⚖️ Trading Fee & Spread Calculator
A "0% fee" app can still be the most expensive place to trade, because the cost hides in the spread. Enter the fee and spread for up to three platforms and see the real cost per trade and per year.
Where to find the numbers
The trading fee is on the platform's fee page, often split into "maker" and "taker" rates; use the taker rate if you buy at the market price. The spread is not on any fee page: compare the buy price and the sell price shown at the same moment. If you can buy at $101 and sell at $99, the spread is about 2%.
Why half the spread
The spread is the gap between buying and selling. On a single purchase you pay roughly half of it compared with the mid-market price, and the other half when you sell. That is why the tool counts half the spread per trade.
Limits
Fixed fees per order, deposit and withdrawal fees, and currency conversion are not included. Spreads also widen when markets move fast, so a quiet-day spread understates the cost on a busy day.
